Not Long For This World   Year: 2008 | Run Time: 5:04

Written by Bill Mallonee for CyBrenJoJosh (BMI)

the streets they look just like velvet
the snow it did descend
december winds they were visiting
the old tapes they were spinning still
the caverns of my skull
i thought i had gotten rid of them

was nothing but successful yeah
at failing every test
the devil's confessor at my worst
and judas at my best

and the brass band does strike up
the snow begins to swirl
you fall a little shy of salvation kid
but not long for this world

must have chased that voice i heard
buried in the wind
but i could have been mistaken
seems like when you first arrived
stepped off of that train
in the platform in the falling rain

maybe it was the old church bell
that rang down from on high
stark against the age's fears
and cobalt blue skies

i thought i saw a strand of stars
all woven in your hair
i'm sure all that i did was stare
it wasn't just proximity
??? dying to stay warm
coming in from out of the storm

these are dangerous waters kid
you're not like to last long
so i chained myself unto the mast
to hear the siren song

Appeared On…
