Then You Turned To Go   Year: 2007 | Run Time: 3:59

Written by Bill Mallonee for CyBrenJoJosh (BMI)

i remember it was autumn
when the swallows ceased to sing
a closing off of letters
a rending of things

a thousand things i could've said
but only one was made known
Godspeed was all i spoke
and then you turned to go

i suppose there is this letting go
of things you hold too tight
and me i've never been too good
at things they call goodbyes

may your heart always be warmed
by the Spirit's kindly eyes
there's so much i should have said
would you read between the lines

may the vastness of geography
may your hearts be drawn close
may you vanish in the arms
that will one day hold us both

Did You Know?

The following verse was left out of the final recording:

go forth across a vast expanse / from where friends dwell peaceably / it's yours to open eyes and hearts / when you have the key

Appeared On…
