Whatever You Need from Me   Year: 1995 | Run Time: 3:58

Written by Bill Mallonee for CyBrenJoJosh (BMI)

whatever you need from me it's there for the taking
whatever you need from me it's there for ignoring
it's there in our sickness it's there in our health
it's there in the wickedness we bring on ourselves

are we staking our claims do we care anymore
who gets hurt in the crossfire of our dirty war
once under a tree we made love and embraced
now we're drawing our pistols there counting twenty paces

whatever you need from me whatever you heart desires
when we're pouring the gasoline all over our fires
if i could just remember what brought on this bad weather
if i could just remember what brought us together

yeah you got expectations that need to be met
i can bring you my loyalty aching deficits
yeah whenever we bleed we open these wounds
we go for the jugular with the words that we choose

i can't build any bridges 'cause my bridges they're all burned
not strong enough to hold all that we have learned
yeah about each other as this river goes down
got to carry each other or we'll surely drown

whatever you need from me please take what you can
i wonder how you see me what kind of light would i stand
if i could just remember what brought on this bad weather
if we could just remember what brought us together

Did You Know?

The song was written about/for two of Bill's friends whose marriage was failing. It was never recorded in the studio but was released via BillTunes as part of a live show at the Acoustic Cafe in 1995.

Appeared On…
