Bill says of "Lady Luck," "There's only one song where I've had reservations about the images I used." The song received some airplay and soon frat boys started attending the concerts for this song (and for the wrong reason). It was at this point that Bill stopped playing the song, believing it to be too harsh. Bill says this song is about selfishness.

Although I wouldn't say that I even particularly like this song, I think that the last two verses are some of the best lyrics ever written. It's so honest. I feel like in the last 4 lines of the song Bill captures the whole struggle of humanity. "something help me see just how worthless, something help me excavate deep below the surface, something help me drown, Lord, in your river of blood and grace, I know that I'm leperous, but hold me anyway."
